Virtual CH
In 2008, Chris Harrington has triplicated himself to form Virtual CH, the world's first and only rock trio featuring two cloned band members that perform from alternate dimensions. Chris fronts the band on guitar and vocals. Bassist Christopher and drummer Chris J. perform live from their alternate dimensions via life-size video screens.
Meet The Band
Chris J.
Chris J is a natural on drums. He’s self-taught. He's a natural painter too. In fact, when he was young, he'd paint a picture almost every morning, and dad would take it to the market and sell it for cash. Brilliant and simple pictures of fruit and rushing rivers - anything he could conjure up from watching old John Wayne movies, his favorite. Chris J grew up in a motherless household, and he's still emotionally yet too young to really understand what that's done to his development. Chris J’s dad had to remind him at age 14 that it was probably time to exit the sandbox. He’s is a sensitive one, but not in all the ways you'd imagine. He'd think nothing of driving by a car crash, but then he'd cry as a kid when he saw people “wrecking” snow drifts by simply walking through them.
Now as a grown man, Chris J is still virtually unaware that people can-do mean-spirited things. Chris J likes tight fitting black clothes, bright colored orange shoes, and he never wears socks in honor of his studio friend John Kuker. He constantly asks bassist Christopher to say something in German, so that he can then repeat it back like a broken record, and LOUDLY.
For that matter, Chris J is pretty much loud all around. He hits the drums too loud at times and during the shows you’ll often see bandmate Christopher keep him in line. When Chris J stops talking to himself on stage, it is only then that he is able to focus in on performing the song. The challenge, thus, is to get him to stop talking to himself. He does this constantly. Chris J’s hygiene could be better. Though if you stood next to him, you’d most likely notice that his breath is rather freshly fresh. This is because he takes a bite of cilantro and celery every couple of minutes from a stash in his front left shirt pocket.
Christopher
Christopher is the urban, suave and quiet member of the power trio. Music is his passion, but it is also secondary in his busy life. He lived in Western Europe for a couple years and he carries what he learned there with him in terms of fashion, style and temperament. He longs for those years. Fashion, food and drink help Christopher keep those memories alive. He slightly resents the fact that he cannot have the “Oceans 11” European lifestyle here in Minneapolis, and because of this his arrogance shows itself from time to time.
Christopher is very practical, and indeed, very sentimental. On occasion he uses words like “thrice” in place of “three times.” You can see that he belongs in his so-called “Mad Men” Banana Republic suit collection, but at times he tries a bit too hard with fashion. He will admit that if you ask him. After all, he's the son of a mechanical engineer and he grew up in the suburbs working on a 1979 yellow Camaro.
Even though he may come across as condescending towards his other two bandmates, Christopher absolutely loves to sing harmony. Christopher may complain about showing up to practice through his dimensional porthole, but once the music starts, he sings and plays his bass with passion. He's always there 101.5 %. Christopher keeps drummer Chris J in line, much like an older brother would. And as much as he sees the truth about drummer Chris J’s drinking problems, deep down he respects the drummer's brilliance. In fact, he'll tell you he's a bit jealous of Chris J’s natural talent. He will admit that he has had to work for his bass & vocal chops.
